News Roundup – reprints, readings and a short story sale

Martin Owton’s short story ‘The Mist Beyond The Circle’- originally published in Black Gate magazine – has been reprinted in Aphelion Webzine. The story can be read here.

Gary Couzens’ short story ‘Little Black Number’ has been accepted by editor Terry Grimwood, and will be appearing in Wordland 6: Black Is The New Black. This is Gary’s 52nd story sale!

And Helen Callaghan’s upcoming novel ‘Dear Amy’ has appeared in The Bookseller as a key title ahead of the Frankfurt Book Fair. Helen will also be reading at the Millennium Library in Norwich as part of their ‘Crime Scene’ event. Other authors attending include Andrew Hook, Margaret Callow, Geraldine Evans and Charlie Flowers. The event takes place on Tuesday 13th October at 5.45pm and more information can be found here.

Dear Amy, a psychological thriller by Helen Callaghan, about a Cambridge schoolteacher and agony aunt who starts to receive letters from a girl supposedly murdered twenty years ago, has been bought by editor Emad Akhtar at Michael Joseph, an imprint of Penguin Random House. UK and Commonwealth rights were sold by Judith Murray at Greene and Heaton after auction as part of a two book deal. The novel has also been sold in the US and Germany.

Dear Amy is expected to appear in Spring 2016 in the UK.
